In the previous post we understood in brief about the Baseline Package of SAP Best Practice.
In this version we will try to go further in understanding the Baseline Package.
Versions of Baseline Package
SAP as we all know have been evolving in every front. For e.g. we had SAP R/2 then came SAP R/3 followed by SAP ERP and now the latest buzz in the market newly introduced SAP S4 HANA.
With such an innovative team of highly prolific intellectuals how could SAP not have improved upon the Best Practices?
SAP has been continually working on improving the Best Practices and the latest version available on site is 3.607
Is one global template available for the Best Practices?
How can we even think about such a thing?
SAP has global presence and always comes up with things that are specific to countries for e.g. Country India Version or Brazil country version for taxation etc.
In case of Baseline Package of Best Practices as well SAP has provided various country specific Best Practices. The localisation documentations is available in various languages other than English as well.

Components of Best Practices
SAP Best Practice is not a single document or two, but it is a complete methodology that is capable of guiding us through all the phases of SAP Implementation. In order to deep dive into the Best Practices we will go through the SAP best Practices available for India Localisation. To access the same please click here.Once you click here you will be navigated to a page which contains list of all the countries as mentioned above. Click on the language name against country relevant for you, it will navigate you to the best practices.
For our understanding purpose, we will click on India Localisation and we will be navigated to the page as appearing under image 1.01

In the above screen we can notice that the cursor is placed on Intro. These are nothing but the various sections in which the SAP Best Practices is divided. Every section is further bifurcated into sub-sections (marked in red circle) which has a brief information appearing on the screen for e.g. under first section Intro we can see Overview as the first sub-section which contains information about What SAP Best Practices provide users and Where to find what.
Under every Sub-section (marked in red circle) SAP has provided relevant documentation which is either available for download or reading online. For e.g. under Overview we have following documentation:
